Asuda organization implements awareness sessions on the impact of Covid-19 on gender based violence

Asuda Organization for Combating Violence against Women conducted five awareness –raising sessions related to GBV and the gendered impact of the COVID-19, in Baqufa and Sharya village, Alqosh sub district - Nineveh Governorate.
Within the Women, Peace and Security in the Arab Countries Project - Phase two, in partnership with the United Nations Women, which supports the Finnish government.
The total number of participants in the awareness sessions were 50 participants (45 women and 5 girls). The session was divided into several topics, including: Understanding the concept of gender and the expectations based on it from societal expectations that affect its concept from one society to another, Explaining the consequences and impact of gender-based violence on individuals, families and communities and With the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the gender inequality gap is increasing, and thus, gender-based violence is increasing Therefore, the protection and awareness of women and girls about their rights is given the highest priority.
