Baghdad Women Association implemented, out an awareness session for women and girls about facing violence inside the family and to increase their level of awareness of the laws that protect their rights.

The session was divided into main topics important to family and society, as gender-based violence, represented in the aspects of the differences between sex and gender, the social roles of males and females, the most important causes and types of violence and its impact on the family and society, in addition, the ways to reduce and eliminate violence.

The activity was done under project “Women, Peace and Security in the Arab states– Phase II” funded by the government of Finland and in partnership with UNWomen. at Kabarto 1 camp for IDPs in presence of 13 women and girls , by coordinating with the Social Welfare Department.
