UN Women Holds a Coordination meeting in Erbil

Coordination was strengthened between the Department of Women Empowerment (DWE) and the High Council of Women and Development (HCWD) through a meeting done in Erbil on 20-21 July 2022. Meeting topics discussed were: Progress of the INAP II implementation in 2022, INAP II Monitoring framework, The National Strategy for Iraqi Women for 2023, and the work of committees involved and supporting Peace Mediation, Anti-Domestic Violence Law and Women Political Participation in Elections. In addition, civil society engagement and work on the WPS agenda through the WPHF fund was highlighted and linked to INAP II interventions. The meeting was attended by Dr. Yusra—Director General of the DWE, Dr. Khanzad— Secretary General of the HCWD, Dr. Ammar—UNWomen Programme Management specialist and representatives from DCVAW and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MOLSA) in Kurdistan.
